Encounter,
Mark Batterson had this to say about taking risks from his book “In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day.” Your greatest regret at the end of your life will be risks you didn't chase. You will look back longingly on risks not taken, opportunities not seized, and dreams not pursued. Stop running away from what scares you most and start chasing the God-ordained opportunities that cross your path.
What if the life you really want, and the future God wants for you, is hiding right now in your biggest problem, your worst failure…your greatest fear?
“Our best days often start out as our worst days. And our greatest opportunities are often disguised as our biggest problems. But God is in the recycling business.
He recycles past experiences and uses them to prepare us for future opportunities. That is the story of my life. And that is the story of your life. Look in the rearview mirror long enough and you’ll see that God has purposely positioned you everywhere you’ve been—even when it seemed you’d taken a wrong turn.”
“Most God-ordained dreams die because we are not willing to do something that seems illogical”
“Now here is what you need to understand: If you don’t turn your adversity into a ministry, then your pain remains your pain. But if you allow God to translate your adversity into a ministry, then your pain becomes someone else’s gain.”
“God wants you to get where God wants you to go more than you want to get where God wants you to go.”
I’ve learned that taking no risks is the greatest risk of all.” The greatest opportunities are still the scariest lions. Impossible odds set the stage for amazing miracles. Live your life in a way that is worth telling stories about. Chase the lion! It’s what you are destined to do!”
At Encounter we are all about becoming lion chasers and living our lives in a way that is worth telling stories about. That is exactly what the Mansfield family is going to do this Friday night. You are going to hear about a family who took a risk and started chasing their lions instead of running from them. You are going to hear how this program can and will transform your life.
Mandie is back leading worship and we are launching our groups this Friday too! We have another great dinner planned so please arrive early for a great time of fellowship and food.
If you haven’t had a chance to visit our website please go to www.thehopeencounter.org and continue to help us get the word out about this life changing chain breaking ministry!
I look forward to seeing you all at Encounter this Friday night!
Be Blessed and Encouraged
