A Sacrifice of Praise

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name. Hebrews 13:15

When was the last time you measured your praise barometer? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would rate your praise when it comes to worship and praising God?

Is praise something you do and experience only during a worship set before a church service? Or is praise continually on your lips throughout the day praising the One who holds your life in the palm of His hand?

Notice the word “continually” in this scripture. Continually is not reserved just for a worship service. It is supposed to be constant and something we are supposed to do throughout our day, every day, all the time.

The second part of this passage states that we are to offer a “sacrifice of praise.” A sacrifice of praise is when we praise God even when we don’t feel like it; want to, or despite the circumstances we are facing.

Let’s face it. We don’t have a problem praising God when things are going well. But does your praise get louder and more intense when things are going bad? When things are bad, do you pout or praise? Do you whine or worship? Do you complain or bless and confess His name?

No matter what is going on in your life, worship and praise is a choice and nobody can keep you from continually offering a sacrifice of praise.

I challenge you to evaluate your praise barometer and take it beyond a 10! The choice is yours. Make the proper adjustment and you will experience God like you have never experienced Him before.

God is not insecure that He needs our praise. He desires our praise because when we worship God in Spirit and Truth like this it changes us and gives us a clearer picture of who God really is. When we enter into His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise we can experience the presence and power of God like never before.

We have an opportunity to take our praise to the next level tomorrow night at Encounter. We are going to have the biggest all worship night that we have ever had. The entire night will be devoted to just worship and praise. Please join us and invite as many people as you can to this great worship concert planned by Mandie and members of the Encounter band.

We have a great dinner planned at 6pm with the service starting at 7pm. I can’t wait to see you all there!

Be Blessed and Encouraged
