God’s Wisdom Revealed by the Spirit
We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”—the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:6-10
The moment you put yourself in a position where the Holy Spirit starts imparting God’s wisdom into your life, and that wisdom starts taking root, maturity is the byproduct.
This wisdom is nowhere to be found in this world or from someone operating under their natural ability. This wisdom can only be obtained from someone operating in the supernatural ability of the Holy Spirit.
Paul is telling us that this is a secret wisdom that the world does not understand. Paul says what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him, the Holy Spirit reveals to us.
Paul is saying, if you truly love Jesus, then the revelations of Christ through the Holy Spirit will be revealed to you. Paul goes on to say, “If you combine all the wisdom through all the leaders of the world, past present and future, they can’t come close to understanding spiritual truth and wisdom.” If they did they would not have crucified Christ. But again, God reveals it to those who love him!
How? I don’t know how? I do know through whom; and that is through the Holy Spirit. Paul is simply saying that it is humanly impossible to understand the wisdom of God in our own natural wisdom and our limited ability to reason; but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit!
That is why you look and get wisdom directly from the Holy Spirit and from those who have walked with Jesus and not necessarily from people, who have just studied, teach, and even preach about Jesus.
