Even Jesus (The Perfect Son of God) had a Guiding Light and if Jesus needed a Guiding Light to accomplish God’s will…how much more do we need the Holy Spirit to come upon us, to lead us, and guide our lives into the perfect will of God? 

It is an inside job and that is why it is called the fruits of the spirit. Self-help does not work. Willpower does not work. It is God giving us the will and power that works through his Holy Spirit.
